A Review Of The CECT P168 Plus Quadband - The New Quad Band Version Of the iClone

Well, the wait is finally over. The Quad Band version of the iClone has finally arrived. Like the previous iClone model, this phone can do virtually anything you need it to. It looks and functions amazingly similar to the iPhone, while allowing you to use any provider you chose. You aren't forced to go with AT&T with this phone. With it's touch screen, you can surf the web, download and listen to music, record and play video, etc. This phone also has a removable battery (unlike the iPhone) and has TWO sim slots allowing you to basically have a phone for business and leisure.

Here is how the new version quadband CECT P 168 Plus compares to the old version:

The major upgrade is obviously that it is quadband, which makes it literally plug and play. It works with any network worldwide. (GSM GPRS 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz). They have also: upgraded the Bluetooth features; upgraded the firmware; added a slide unlock (which means anyone can unlock this phone in one swipe); added a webcam; and upgraded the phone with surround sound. (Complete list of specs below).

The touch screen on the quadband version feels a bit firmer (and more like glass) than the original. The cost of this model if very competitive, coming in between $100 and $150.

The videos floating around for this phone (link at the end of the article) can really demonstrate what this phone can do. Here are a list of the features:

Why Home Music Recording is Vital For All Musicians - Record Yourself, Improve and Have Fun

Every musician who wants to improve should always include music recording as part of their regular practice schedule. If you are not doing this, you are really missing one of the best tools for music improvement available.

As a euphonium player with over 30 years experience, I have always been amazed at the different playing standards amongst musicians. Why is there such a difference in playing abilities and why do some people not improve very quickly even though they may practice a lot? I have been fortunate to work with some great musicians including some of the best euphonium players in the world (it is a small community and many of us know each other) and I have often discussed these issues with them. Here is a summary of the answers I received together with some of my own research on this topic. In summary, you need the best teacher you can afford, you should practice efficiently (not just practice) and you should try home music recording to identify your own strengths and weaknesses as a player. Here's each item in more detail.

1) Get the best teacher you can afford. This applies to almost any activity you can think off, but is surprising how many people overlook this critical step. You have to get the basic playing fundamentals right as soon as possible because it is very difficult to correct poor technique and habits later on.

2) Practice often, but practice efficiently. Your teacher should be able to help you here. You should incorporate the fundamental techniques for your particular instrument into your practice schedule and not just concentrate on the fun stuff (this comes later). For example, for brass instruments you should incorporate a warm-up, long notes (for sound and tone development), tonguing (for articulation), range, breath control, fingering, mixed intervals, sight reading etc into each practice schedule as well as your performance pieces. Then you can try the fun stuff. You will get much more enjoyment when you can play the fun stuff better!

3) Record yourself so that you can identify your strength and weaknesses. I can guarantee that if you have never tried home music recording before, you will be amazed at what you hear. You will hear aspects of your playing that were completely unaware of before because you were too busy concentrating on the music and the mechanics of playing to really, really listen. It can be a bit of a shock at first, but it is a great learning experience because you can hear your strengths and weaknesses and this is the first step along the road to improvement. Compare your recordings to those of professionals playing the same piece and listen for the differences in overall phrasing, sound, intonation and general musicianship. This is a great way to improve your own performance. By recording yourself regularly, you can even monitor your improvement as you go along.

Fortunately, there are now many very high quality, low cost portable digital audio recorders available so it is very easy to record yourself and hear the fine detail of your playing. Not only can the recording quality exceed CD quality, but it is easy to download the files to a computer for further editing so that you can produce CDs or e-mail mp3 files to your teacher and friends. Many of the recorders feature high density memory cards so that you can store lots of high quality music. They also can have built in tools such as metronome, tuners and variable playback speeds so that you can slowdown or speed up the music without affecting the pitch. This is great when you are learning a new tune. Some recorders even have the ability to do multi-track recording so that you can play all the parts to duets, trios, quartets or even larger groups. All this packed into a recorder which can fit easily into the palm of your hand.

Band directors/conductors/group leaders can also benefit from these tools. If you record the practice session and then listen to the playback after the rehearsal, you will hear things that you were not conscious of at the rehearsal. You can then record a 'voice-over' on top of the recording to send out to your band members so that they are better prepared for the upcoming rehearsal. This is a great way to increase the efficiency of your rehearsals.

These are just some of the reasons why all musicians can benefit from home music recording. High quality portable digital audio recorders are readily available and they won't cost you a fortune. So go ahead, start recording your music and see how quickly you improve.

10 Basic But Unbeatable Tips For Designing Your Business Website

Design of your business website is very important. You want to get across a couple of things - important things. What is your business all about? A new visitor should be able to answer that question in the first 5 seconds. Where can they contact you? What products or services do you sell?

These 10 tips will help you create a website that is fun and easy to use for visitors. These are time-tested techniques to help your business website be the best it can possibly be.

1. Fonts - Verdana, Trebuchet, Arial, Helvetica - these are all easy to use fonts that are more recent than Times New Roman. A site still using an old font like that, or worse, courier - which is like type written characters, is an eyesore to look at. Font size should be 12 or 14 point for general text. You might use size 18 or 20 point for headings and subheadings.

2. Include Images - sites that have no images or graphics are very boring and a new visitor will likely just click off very quickly and go to another more "GUI" (Graphical User Interface) site. A GUI site is one that has a lot of eye-candy and can grab a viewer's attention and hold it for some amount of time. Photos of people using your products are especially effective in helping you sell online.

3. Include Video, PDF, images, MP3, FLASH - and all kinds of multimedia files to grab attention and keep visitors on your business website. Video in particular is the ultimate way for businesses to present information to potential customers online. Invest some time in producing some video for your website - it is all time well-invested.

4. Blue Links - originally all hyperlinks on websites were blue. This was back in the mid to late 1990s. THe color has stuck in our minds and to most of the online world the bright blue color of text signifies hyperlinks. This color is more easily noticed than other link colors. If you do not want to use bright blue for your links, use another color of blue or bright red. Black for links is difficult to discern, so if your body text is black, you should not use black for your link color.

5. White Space - is necessary. Break up huge conglomerations of text with copious amounts of white space to give eyes a break.

6. Sales Page Optimization - a quality sales page has a number of features. Primarily, your goal is to answer every question about your product as possible so your potential customer does not click away and visit another site. Your sales page should have images, sound, video, or other media to highlight all the positives you can about the product. Describe who your product is for, why it is necessary, how to use it, and why the price is worth it.

7. Template Format - your header, columns, footer, the entire website should have some structure to it - and look professional as a result. If you keep the links in the same place, the articles in a set format, it becomes natural and easily remembered. If it is easy to remember then your site is easy to use. Strive to make your site very easy to use.

8. Remove Mandatory Downloads - websites or pages that start with a FLASH or other mandatory download can be a horrible user experience and may lead to potential customers clicking away before they even see what you have to offer. Large downloads of FLASH or video should be optional at all times - never mandatory. Though most of the USA has broadband internet there are buyers that do not. Even among broadband users, few enjoy being forced to wait even a minute to download something they are not sure is pertinent to them.

9. Substantial Content - business websites with less than 10-20 pages are not taken very seriously by Google or other search engines. You should be able to make 50 pages for any business website. If you cannot fill your site with 50 pages of great information about your product or service then you probably are not going to make a big impression in Google. It is possible, it is not likely.

10. A-Level Graphics - there is nothing that gives your business the impression of being amateurs as having weak graphics on your website or for your promotional materials. Spend the extra money to have graphics developed professionally and you will present a better impression of your business.

There are many areas to optimize when you start your new business. Make sure you are building a business based on fundamentals that are proven and work, not a house of cards that can fall over at the first sign of trouble.

For Home Decoration - Select Watercolor Paintings

Did you buy any water color painting? To be frank, I have the vast experience in buying the water color pictures and paintings from eBay. The internet has become more powerful vehicle of the collection of the wonderful artifacts and products at the comfortable price rates. However, so far as the watercolor paintings are concerned, the quality of the picture is really wonderful and attractive. I purchased a painting which was painted by Y. Gianni. It was launched into the market in the year of 1890. It has fantastically depicted an Italian hamlet which is really bright and vibrant. I can assure you that you will be glad to have the glimpse of this water color painting. I am very much fortunate and lucky to collect a wonderful watercolor painting which has been painted by William B. Gillette.

There is a fantastic color contrast. The artists have made a bold effort by choosing the wonderful and attractive color shades like soft green, bluish hue, purple, peach and brown colors. The beauty of rural landscape in the painting is marvelous and eye catching. The pictorial scenario of wonderful blow of sweet breeze and the beach with the protected hills encircling village has been painted in magnificent color shades. If you have the strong passion for purchasing the water color painted pictures, you can try your luck by opting for Charles Dickens Wader's collection.

His artistic work is not only famous but the pictures are painted in unique way. Frankly speaking, from childhood days, I have very good intention to purchase the beautiful pictures and I show much interest to buy the watercolor photos. On the other hand paintings can be used for the inner decoration of the house. If you are very much interested to decorate your rooms installing the elegant paintings and pictures, you must opt for watercolor paintings for the designing of the house.

In this connection, I can tell you a sweet incident which is still fresh in my mind. There was a lawyer who earned much recognition in the legal world. However he also took keen interest in the decoration of the house. He once hired me for the selection of good paintings for decorating his bed chamber and lounge. I was very glad to accept his offer and eventually I made an extensive search in the art exhibition to find the most appropriate painting for the lawyer.

After huge investigation and probing, finally I found a wonderful picture which depicted two polo players who were seen riding the horse in the play ground. My lawyer friend was very ecstatic to see the picture. Jim Killen is also very well known to the young artists and the painting lovers. His watercolor paintings can be chosen for the decoration of the rooms.

NCLEX RN Exams - Not Just For US Students

According to NCSBN, National Council of State Boards of Nursing test results among students studying outside the United States and US educated students taking the NCLEX RN are both on the rise from 2000.

In 2000 there were a total of 71,475 US educated students and 7,506 internationally educated students taking the NCLEX RN. International students made up only 10.5% of the students sitting for the exam.

Although the number of nursing students increased significantly in 2007, it is not meeting the needs of the demands. Aging Baby Boomers, growing population, and increased number of nurses used in place of doctors is causing a serious demand for nurses.

Is the need for nurses similar to the need for computer engineers? Computer engineer positions were met by students outside the United States who were willing to learn the trade. These students are also recognizing and satisfying the need for nurses. Many United States Citizens are arguing that there are citizens with education and experience to fill the positions in the computer science field and issuing more work visas will only increase unemployment in the US. Will this be the same for the nursing industry? Last year there were 119,579 United States educated students and 33,768 internationally educated pupils taking for the NCLEX RN exam. This is a bit more than 28% of all nursing students taking this exam.

The dramatic increase is quite possibly the result of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing opening three exam centers abroad. In just seven years the percentage of international students has risen 17.5%

Students educated outside the United States are alert to the need for nurses in North America and know that educating themselves may be their opportunity to obtain a work visa and possible citizenship in the United States and may garner them a life of a greater quality of living and freedom from oppression.

Students Educated in the United States are still out performing international students, but international students are gaining on them.Last year, there were 119,579 United States educated nursing students taking the NCLEX RN. 85.5% of them passed. 52% of the 33,768 students educated outside the United States nurses passed the first time.

How about the students who did not pass the NCLEX RN Test? Last year 26,411 students sat for the exam for at least the second time. These were United States educated students retaking the exam. Simple math indicates that there are students taking the exam for at least the third time Only 52.4% of these repeat test takers passed. Internationally educated test takers pass rate dropped to 25.7%

Many students are looking for study aids to help them getting better test results and have turned to NCLEX NCLEX Study Audioson CDs and MP3 downloads. Since the audios are available online they are accessible to anyone in the world.

Students from around the world listen to the audios to prepare for the nursing classes, reinforce what they are learning and prepare for the exams., but some students have thought ahead and use it to learn the class material prior to starting the class.

Most students attribute poor test results to the lack of time they have to study. NCLEX review materials on audio make it easier to review while performing other activities such as driving or going to the gym.
